Work Groups
Work Groups for specific professional development and networking events are appointed with individual charges and specific timeframes to organize conferences and workshops. They report to the Professional Development and Networking Committee. They are charged with considering topics, target membership segments and frequency to address the needs of the overall MLA membership. Some programming is offered annually, others are offered in alternating years and new initiatives are always explored based on membership survey results, scanning and proposals. This structure is designed to be responsive and flexible in accordance with MLA’s resources.
2009-10 Work Groups are Academic Libaries: 2010, Spring Institute, Fantastic Fiction, Tech Escape; Ask the Professionals: Mid-Management Success; Literature, the Child and the Teen; Summer Reading; MLA Awards; Michigan Author Award; Annual Conference and Directors Summit.
